Nearly half of those children were admitted to hospital, with many having to be fed through a nasal tube or treated with drugs to aid their recovery. In one case, a child with an eating disorder died due to kidney failure. While the average age of sufferers was around 11, the youngest case identified in the survey was a boy only five years old. Fashion's favorite funhouse has looked more like a haunted castle since the 1997 murder of Gianni Versace. Can Donatella salvage the glittering empire her brother built? By Aaron Gell Just before Christmas 2004, Donatella Versace gathered her clan in the family's opulent Manhattan townhouse one last time. The stately stone building on East 64th Street once belonged to her brother Gianni, who had staged some of the '90s' wildest parties there. Despite the holiday season, however, this reunion would be a sober affair; no celebrities were there to share the Versaces' largesse. Cash problems had forced the family to put the mansion on the block, and in the following months its contents would be sold at auction. The only addition to Donatella's immediate family—former husband Paul Beck, and their children Allegra and Daniel—was her hairdresser, who took his regular place by her side at dinner on Christmas Eve....

Ok, Future Movies must admit that we have had a crush on Bale since, at 19, he played Laurie in Little Women; that we respect him immensely as an actor; that we wanted to ask him about his skin care regime, but ran out of time, an that, frankly, as far as he's concerned we are a gushing fangirl, hands shaking as we pose our first, very excited, but uber-professional, question. He'll never know... FM: Did you not fancy playing a more cheery role? Christian Bale: Well, I wanted to do something that wasn't a big juggernaut of a movie, and this was one that I'd wanted to do for a few years. I'd met Dave - I can't remember exactly when but it might have been as early as 2001 and we met at a bar and ended up being there something like five hours, arguing about things. He's an engaging guy, he doesn't mince his words, and I just loved the character, the momentum of the whole thing....
